The Toyota Voxy is the sportier-looking twin of the Toyota Noah. Underneath they are the same van: seven or eight seats, two sliding doors and the same engines. The Voxy is aimed at younger families, with a sharper front end and darker styling.

Grades
- X: the base grade.
- V: the comfort grade.
- ZS: the sporty grade with the aero body kit and bigger wheels. By far the most popular Voxy.
- ZS Kirameki: a special edition of the ZS. "Kirameki" means "sparkle" in Japanese: it adds extra chrome and upgraded interior trim. It sells for a little more than a plain ZS.
Hybrid or Petrol?
The R80 hybrid uses a 1.8 engine with an electric motor, like the Prius. It uses clearly less fuel in city traffic. The 2.0 petrol is simpler and easier to fix where hybrid mechanics are scarce. Our hybrid or petrol guide explains the trade-off.
What to Check
- Power sliding doors: test both. Motors and rails wear with use.
- CVT: ask about judder or whining noted by the inspector.
- Hybrid system (hybrid only): ask whether the auction sheet mentions a hybrid warning light.
- Rear AC: check the second AC unit for the back seats blows cold.
- Body kit: ZS bumpers and side skirts sit low. Check the lower edges for scrapes and cracks.

Age Limits: Which Countries Can Take One
Some countries cap the age of an imported car: Jamaica allows up to 5 years, Trinidad & Tobago 4 years, and Kenya and Guyana 8 years. The Bahamas, Barbados, Suriname, the Eastern Caribbean islands such as Saint Lucia and Antigua, Uganda and Tanzania have no strict age limit on our checker. Rules change, so always confirm with your clearing agent before you pay.
For the Voxy this means an R70 suits the no-limit markets, Kenya and Guyana need a recent R80, and Jamaica and Trinidad need a very new car.
