The Suzuki Every is a small Japanese "kei" van: a 660cc engine, a boxy body and a surprisingly big cargo space. In Japan it is the van of choice for small businesses, farmers and delivery drivers. Abroad, it has become one of the cheapest ways to get a reliable work vehicle, and it costs very little to ship because it is so small.
It is also the model we have the most of. As of September 2026 we have 26 Suzuki Everys in stock.
Every Van vs Every Wagon
- Every (van): the commercial version, built for cargo. The rear seat folds flat and the back is mostly load space. This is what our stock is.
- Every Wagon: the passenger version, with better rear seats, more trim and usually a turbo. It is a different listing, so search for it by name if you want one.
Generations
| Generation | Years | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| DA64V | 2005–2015 | Most of the Everys on the export market. Simple, cheap and easy to fix. |
| DA17V | 2015 onward | Newer body, more safety features on later cars, higher price. |
The newest Everys (2018 and later) are the only ones that fit strict age rules like Kenya's. See the age section below.
Trims: PA, PC, Join and Join Turbo
The trim name tells you how well equipped the van is:
| Trim | What you get | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| PA | The basic work van. Few extras, sometimes a high roof. | Pure cargo and the lowest price |
| PC | A step up from PA, with a few more comforts. | Daily work with some comfort |
| Join | Better seats, more equipment, often the high roof. | Business owners who drive it every day |
| Join Turbo | The Join with a turbo engine. | Hills, heavier loads, highway driving |
The standard 660cc engine is fine in town but slow with a full load on hills. If your roads are hilly or you carry heavy loads, a Join Turbo is worth the extra money.
2WD or 4WD?
Almost all of our Everys (21 of 26) are 4WD. That is a big plus on muddy, gravel or rural roads. 4WD adds a little fuel use and a few more parts to maintain, but for most buyers outside the city it is the right choice.
What to Check
- Rust: check the floor under the mats, the sliding door runners and the bottom of the rear door. Everys from snowy parts of Japan can have underbody rust.
- Mileage: Everys are work vans, so high mileage is normal. Ours range from about 81,000 to 346,000 km. The auction sheet grade and notes matter more than the number alone.
- Gearbox: most of ours are automatic. On an older automatic, ask whether the inspector noted slipping or harsh shifts.
- Turbo (Join Turbo only): ask about smoke and whether the turbo sounds normal.
- Seats: some Everys are registered as 2-seaters, others as 4 or 5. Check that the seat count matches what you need to register it as.
- Auction sheet: see how to read a Japanese auction sheet.
Age Rules
- Kenya (8 years): only our 3 newest Everys (2019–2020) qualify. See the Kenya guide.
- Guyana (8 years): the same 3 qualify.
- Jamaica (5 years) and Trinidad & Tobago (4 years): none of our current Everys are new enough.
- Uganda, Tanzania, the Bahamas, Barbados, Suriname and most Eastern Caribbean islands: our site's checker shows no strict age limit, so every Every can go. Older vehicles can still pay extra duty or levies, so confirm with your clearing agent.
