The Nissan March is a small, simple and cheap city car, sold in other countries as the Nissan Micra. The version usually found at export prices is the K13 generation (2010–2022). It is one of the lowest-cost cars to buy and run from Japan, and it is easy to park and easy to fix.
Engine
A 1.2 three-cylinder petrol with a CVT gearbox. Economical and fine for town and moderate highway driving. The sporty NISMO S uses a 1.5 with a manual gearbox.
Grades
- S: basic.
- X: the most common, with a few more comforts.
- G: more equipment.

- NISMO: sporty styling and suspension.
What to Check
- CVT gearbox: ask whether the inspector noted judder or whining.
- Engine: three-cylinder engines vibrate a little at idle; that is normal, but ask about rough running.
- Mileage: see how to spot odometer rollback.
- Rust: check underneath on cars from northern Japan.
- Auction sheet: read how to read a Japanese auction sheet.
Age Limits: Which Countries Can Take One
Some countries cap the age of an imported car: Jamaica allows up to 5 years, Trinidad & Tobago 4 years, and Kenya and Guyana 8 years. The Bahamas, Barbados, Suriname, the Eastern Caribbean islands such as Saint Lucia and Antigua, Uganda and Tanzania have no strict age limit on our checker. Rules change, so always confirm with your clearing agent before you pay.
A March from 2018 or later can go to Kenya and Guyana; older ones suit the no-limit markets.
The table at the bottom of this page applies each country's rule to our live stock and shows the cheapest delivered price. For the full list see import age limits by country, and for duty and port fees see how to calculate the total cost.
