Plan for Duty
Kenya's import duty, excise duty and VAT are calculated on the car's value, and excise rises with engine size. A 660cc or 1.0 litre car can be far cheaper to clear than a 2.0 litre van. Ask your clearing agent for a KRA estimate on the exact car before you pay.
