Nissan Diesel renamed itself UD Trucks, so the same trucks appear under both names. UD has a strong following in East and Southern Africa.
Quon: heavy-duty
- Rigid trucks in 4x2, 6x2, 6x4 and 8x4, plus tractor heads - the GW, CW and CD codes you see abroad.
- Big diesels, many with UD's urea (AdBlue) emissions system on newer trucks.
- Typical Japanese mileage is high (often 400,000 km+), so condition varies a lot.
Condor: medium and light
The Condor covers the medium and light classes. Many later Condors were built in partnership with Isuzu and share a lot with the Isuzu Forward and Elf, which helps with parts.
What to check on any Japanese truck
- Body type: flatbed (hira), box/van, aluminium wing, refrigerated, dump, tipper or crane. The body is often worth as much as the chassis.
- Mileage and hours: long-haul trucks cover big distances. Look at the auction sheet and service records; low-km nearly new trucks cost more but skip years of wear.
- Emissions kit: newer trucks use a diesel particulate filter (DPD/DPF) and many need AdBlue (urea). Make sure your market can supply and service them.
- Payload and licence: check the rated load in the listing against your local truck licence and axle-load rules.
- Steering side: Japanese trucks are right-hand drive. Some left-hand-drive countries restrict RHD trucks - check before buying.
The live table below counts how many of these trucks each country's age rule accepts. Truck freight depends on the body length and height, so we quote shipping per truck instead of showing an estimate - send us the stock number.
