The BRZ is a light, rear-wheel-drive 2+2 sports coupe developed with Toyota - its twin is the Toyota 86 / GR86. It has a low-mounted Subaru boxer engine and is famous for its handling.
Two generations
- First gen (2012–2020): 2.0 boxer (about 200 hp). Grades RA (basic), R, S, GT, plus STI Sport and limited tS editions.
- Second gen (2021 onward): 2.4 boxer (about 235 hp), stronger mid-range, modern safety kit on automatics. Grades R, S and STI Sport.
What to check
- Manual or automatic: the 6-speed manual holds value best.
- Track use: worn tyres, brakes and clutch, or modified suspension and exhausts. We ask for the auction sheet notes.
- Accident history: sports cars are more likely to have it - check the auction grade.
