The Hino Profia is Hino's heavy-duty truck in Japan, sold abroad as the Hino 700 Series. Hino is Toyota's truck company, and its dealer and parts network in Africa, the Middle East and Asia is a big reason buyers choose it.
Versions
- Rigid trucks in 4x2, 6x2, 6x4 and 8x4, plus tractor heads.
- Bodies: dump, flatbed, aluminium wing, refrigerated, mixer and crane.
- Large six-cylinder diesels; newer trucks have particulate filters and AdBlue.
Mileage matters most
Japanese Profias are often long-haul trucks with 400,000 km or more. That's normal for the class, but price and condition swing widely. Older high-km trucks are cheap; nearly new ones cost many times more. Read the auction sheet carefully and ask us for extra photos of the chassis, cab mounts and drivetrain.
What to check on any Japanese truck
- Body type: flatbed (hira), box/van, aluminium wing, refrigerated, dump, tipper or crane. The body is often worth as much as the chassis.
- Mileage and hours: long-haul trucks cover big distances. Look at the auction sheet and service records; low-km nearly new trucks cost more but skip years of wear.
- Emissions kit: newer trucks use a diesel particulate filter (DPD/DPF) and many need AdBlue (urea). Make sure your market can supply and service them.
- Payload and licence: check the rated load in the listing against your local truck licence and axle-load rules.
- Steering side: Japanese trucks are right-hand drive. Some left-hand-drive countries restrict RHD trucks - check before buying.
The live table below counts how many of these trucks each country's age rule accepts. Truck freight depends on the body length and height, so we quote shipping per truck instead of showing an estimate - send us the stock number.
