The Rush (J200, 2006–2016 in Japan) is a small, tough SUV built by Daihatsu (twin of the Daihatsu Terios). It's a real body-on-frame-style 4WD in a compact size, popular in Africa and the Caribbean for rough roads.
The spec
- 1.5 petrol, 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual.
- Full-time 4WD on most, with a centre diff lock; 2WD versions exist.
- 5 seats in Japanese spec.
What to check
- Underbody and suspension if used on rough roads.
- 4WD system and diff lock working.
- Rust on cars from snowy regions.
Rushes are 2006–2016 cars, so they suit no-age-limit markets like Uganda, Tanzania and most Caribbean islands. The live table below shows which countries' age rules accept how many, and the cheapest delivered to each main port.
