The GR Yaris is Toyota's homologation-special hot hatch: a 1.6 three-cylinder turbo with GR-Four all-wheel drive, built to support Toyota's rally programme. Japan gets every version, including some never sold elsewhere.
Grades
- RZ: the main grade, with the full interior. The "High Performance" pack adds Torsen diffs and better suspension.
- RC: the stripped motorsport base.
- RS: a 1.5 front-wheel-drive version with a CVT. Very different, and much cheaper.
2024 facelift
More power, a revised interior, and the option of the GR-DAT 8-speed automatic alongside the 6-speed manual.
What to check
- RS vs RZ: make sure you're buying the turbo AWD car if that's what you want. The model code and grade tell you.
- Track use: check tyres, brakes and clutch, and ask about circuit days.
- Modifications affect value and, in some countries, registration.
