The Estima (sold abroad as the Previa) is Toyota's egg-shaped people-carrier, made until 2019. It's a comfortable 7- or 8-seater with a big following in East Africa, the Caribbean and the UK.
The versions we stock
- 2.4 petrol (ACR50): the common, economical choice.
- 3.5 V6 (GSR50): smooth and strong, thirstier.
- Estima Hybrid (AHR20): 2.4 hybrid with E-Four electric all-wheel drive. Very economical for its size.
Grades include X, G, and the sporty Aeras (bodykit, sports seats). 4WD versions exist for the petrol cars too.
What to check
- Power sliding doors: both should open and close smoothly.
- 2.4 engine oil consumption on high-mileage cars.
- Hybrid battery and inverter on the Estima Hybrid.
Who can import one
Estimas are 2010–2020 cars, so they suit Uganda, Tanzania, the UK, Ireland, New Zealand and the Caribbean's no-age-limit islands. 2018-on cars fit Kenya's 8-year rule. The table below is live.
