The Crown is Toyota's flagship for Japan, and it's one of the biggest models in our stock. Since 2022 "Crown" has been a whole family of cars rather than one sedan, so here's how to tell them apart.
S220 Crown (2018–2022)
The last traditional rear-wheel-drive Crown sedan. Mostly 2.5 hybrid (smooth and economical), with a 3.5 V6 hybrid and a 2.0 turbo also offered. Grades include S, G, RS (sportier) and RS Advance. A great-value executive car now.
The new Crown family (2022 on)
- Crown Crossover: a raised fastback with AWD, 2.5 hybrid or the 2.4 turbo hybrid (RS).
- Crown Sport: a 5-door SUV-coupé; hybrid and plug-in hybrid.
- Crown Sedan: a long traditional sedan (hybrid or hydrogen fuel cell).
- Crown Estate: the wagon-SUV, the newest.
What to check
- Which Crown it is: listings sometimes just say "Crown". The model code and photos confirm it.
- Hybrid health on high-mileage S220s.
- Japanese-market tech: satnav and some driver-assist features are tuned for Japan.
Who can import one
S220 Crowns (2018 on) suit most markets with 8-year limits (Kenya, Guyana) and no-limit markets; the new Crowns (2023 on) pass even 4–5-year limits. The table below is live.
