The Chaser, Mark II and Cresta were triplets, the same rear-wheel-drive sedan with different styling, and they're among the most wanted JDM cars in the world. The Tourer V with the 1JZ-GTE turbo six and a manual gearbox is the legend.
Generations
- JZX90 (1992–1996) and JZX100 (1996–2001): Chaser, Mark II and Cresta. Tourer V (Chaser), Tourer V (Mark II) and Roulant G Turbo (Cresta) have the 2.5 turbo 1JZ-GTE; others have the 1JZ-GE or smaller sixes.
- JZX110 (2000–2004): Mark II only (Chaser and Cresta ended); the turbo grade is iR-V.
What to check
- Manual swap or factory manual: factory 5-speed Tourer Vs carry the biggest premium.
- Drift history: many were drifted. Check for chassis damage, crash repairs and rust in the rear arches.
- Engine health: compression, turbo smoke and cooling.
- Originality: stock interiors and documented history add value.
The 25-year rule
All JZX90s and JZX100s, and early JZX110s, are now 25+ years old, so they qualify for the USA and Australia. See JDM cars for sale in the USA.
