The Delica D:5 is the only Japanese people-carrier built like an off-roader: real 4WD, good ground clearance and sliding doors. It has a cult following among campers and families, especially in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
The facelifted D:5 (2019 onward)
All our D:5s are 2019 or newer:
- 2.2 diesel turbo with an 8-speed automatic, and 4WD on most cars.
- 7 or 8 seats with power sliding doors.
- Grades: G (well equipped) and P (top grade, more comfort and safety kit). Special editions such as Jasper and Urban Gear also appear.
What to check
- 4WD: most are, but "2WD" listings exist - check the grade line.
- Seats: 7-seat (captain's chairs) or 8-seat bench.
- Diesel particulate filter: fine with regular longer drives; short trips only can clog it.
- Camper conversions: pop-top roofs and beds add value, but check they're legal to register.
