The AMG A-Class is a hot hatch with all-wheel drive and a hand-built engine. Japanese-market cars are right-hand drive, and many are low-mileage weekend cars.
Two generations
- W176 A45 AMG 4MATIC (2013–2018, code 176052): 2.0 turbo four-cylinder with 7-speed dual-clutch. Look for Edition 1 with its aero kit.
- W177 (2019 on):
- A35 4MATIC (177151M): 2.0 turbo, the more usable everyday choice.
- A45 S 4MATIC+ (177054M): 2.0 turbo with around 420 hp, drift mode and an 8-speed dual-clutch.
What to check
- Modifications and tuning: common on AMG hot hatches. Stock cars hold value better.
- Dual-clutch gearbox behaviour and service history.
- Tyres, brakes and clutch packs: performance cars wear these faster.
- Accident history: the auction sheet grade shows repairs.
