Most Defenders we list are the new generation (2020 on), sold new in Japan in right-hand drive, often with low mileage and full dealer history. A few are classic Defenders from the 1990s.
New Defender: 90, 110 and 130
- 90: 3-door short wheelbase.
- 110: 5-door, the most common, with optional third row.
- 130: extended body, 8 seats.
Engines
- D300: 3.0 six-cylinder diesel mild hybrid. This is the most common engine in our stock and the one to pick for towing and long distances.
- D350 / P300 / P400: stronger diesel and petrol versions.
- V8 (5.0): rare and expensive.
Grades run S, SE, HSE and X-Dynamic HSE; the code (e.g. LE72WAB for a 110 D300) identifies body and engine.
What to check
- Air suspension works and holds height (most 110s have it).
- Software updates and recalls. Ask us for the dealer record if listed.
- Tyres and wheels: big wheels are expensive to replace.
Classic Defenders
Older Defenders (1990s) are simpler and loved off-road. Cars more than 25 years old can go to the United States and Australia under their 25-year rules.
Who can import one
New Defenders suit the UK, Ireland, New Zealand and the Caribbean. 2021-on cars also pass Jamaica's 5-year and Trinidad's 4-year limits. For the UK specifically, see Defender to the UK.
