The Atrai is Daihatsu's top-spec kei van: a 660cc van small enough for Japan's kei class but with a turbo, CVT and much better trim than the Hijet it's based on. The current generation (2021 on) is almost all of our stock, and most are nearly new.
Versions
- Atrai RS: the turbo model, the large majority of our stock.
- 2WD and 4WD: S700V/S700W is 2WD, S710V/S710W is 4WD. The 4WD is worth it for hilly or unpaved roads.
- Atrai Deck Van: a short open bed behind a 4-seat cab, a mini pickup with a roof.
All have the 660cc three-cylinder and an automatic (CVT). Seating is 4 with a large flat load floor when the rear seats fold.
Why buyers choose it
- Tiny running costs and easy parking.
- Big, square cargo space for deliveries, tradespeople or camping conversions.
- New-car safety kit (Smart Assist) on recent models.
Things to know
- Kei vans are small: fine for city and island roads, slow on long motorway climbs.
- Registration class: some countries register kei vans as commercial vehicles, which can change duty and age limits. Check with your local authority, or ask us.
Who can import one
Because almost all are 2022 or newer, Atrais fit the strict age limits of Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Mauritius as well as the open Caribbean markets. The table below shows the live count and delivered price per country.
