Japan has a small but dedicated American-car scene, and its imports are often well kept and low-mileage. These are left-hand-drive US-built cars, imported new or nearly new into Japan.
Chrysler 300
- First generation (LX, 2005–2010): 300C with the 5.7 Hemi V8; SRT8 with the 6.1 V8.
- Second generation (LD, 2011 on): mostly the 3.6 Pentastar V6 in Japan (Limited, 300S); the SRT8 got a 6.4 V8.
Dodge Challenger (2008–2023)
- SXT / SE: 3.6 V6.
- R/T: 5.7 Hemi V8.
- Scat Pack / SRT 392: 6.4 V8.
- SRT Hellcat: 6.2 supercharged V8.
Most are automatic; a few have the 6-speed manual.
Left-hand drive: where that works
Because these cars are LHD, they suit left-hand-drive markets and countries that register LHD cars freely. Some right-driving countries restrict or tax LHD cars, so check your country's rules before buying, or ask us.
What to check
- Model codes: some Japanese listings show the code as fumei ("unknown"). We confirm the VIN and spec before you pay.
- Hemi tick and lifters on the 5.7.
- Modifications: many have aftermarket exhausts and wheels.
The 25-year rule
Challengers and 300s are too new for 25-year rules, and US-market cars don't need them in the United States anyway.
